Plastic plate, rods and semi-finished shapes include shaped plastic parts and semi-finished plastic stock. Most plastic parts are fabricated via molding, casting, extrusion, pultrusion, machining, thermal forming, plastic welding, blow molding, and grinding processes. Semi-finished plastic stock is usually available in bar, film, flat, hex, plate, profile, rod, round, sheet, shim, and sphere form. Specialized plastic shapes such as angles, cast stock, channels, extrusions, I-beams, molded stock, tees, and tubes are also available. Size specifications for plastic plates, rods, and semi-finished shapes vary by stock type. For example, plastic shapes such as bars, rods, plates and tubes are specified according to overall thickness, overall width or outer diameter (OD), and overall length. Inner diameter (ID) is an important specification for tubes and other hollow stock shapes. Some plastic plates, plastic rods and semi-finished plastic shapes provide anti-static or electrostatic discharge (ESD) control, or shielding from electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI). Others are flame retardant, flexible, dampening, or approved by Underwriters Laboratories (UL). Plastic plates, rods and semi-finished shapes that provide electrical and/or thermal insulation are also available.

Plastic plate, rod and semi-finished shapes use many different chemical systems. Choices include: acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), acetal or polyoxymethylene (POM), acrylics, cyanoacrylates, epoxy resins, ethylene copolymers, fluoropolymers, ionomer polymers, liquid crystal polymers (LCP), ketones, phenolic and formaldehyde resins, polyamides, polyamide-imides (PAI), polycarbonate, and polyethylene (PE, HDPE, UHMW PE). Plastic plates, plastic rods and semi-finished plastic shapes are also based on the polyethylene terphthalate (PET) and polybutylene terphthalate (PBT) polymer systems, polyesters and vinyl esters, polyether imides, polyether block amide (PEBA) resins, polyimides, polyolefin, polyphenylene oxide (PPO), polyphthalamide, polypropylene (PP), Polysulphide (PPS),  Polysulphone, and polyurethane (PU, PUR). Additional chemical systems for plastic plates, rods and semi-finished shapes include: styrene, polystyrene, and styrene copolymers; silicone; and polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyvinylidene chloride (PVDF), polyvinyl vinyl acetate (PVA), and polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH).

Products & Services Related to Plastic Plate, Rod and Semi-finished Shapes
Anaerobic Adhesives and Anaerobic Sealants
Anaerobic adhesives and sealants cure in the absence of air or oxygen.
Cyanoacrylate Adhesives
Cyanoacrylate adhesives are one-part acrylate adhesives that cure instantly on contact with mated surfaces through a reaction with surface moisture. Cyanoacrylates are often called super glues.
Hot Melt Adhesives
Hot melt adhesives are solvent-free chemical compounds that are used to join materials. They can be repeatedly softened by heat and hardened or set by cooling, allowing parts to be removed or repositioned during assembly.
Plastic and Rubber Balls
Plastic and rubber balls are sphere shapes that are used as check or ball valves, bearings, and in other applications.
Plastics and Plastic Materials
Plastics and plastic materials are organic, synthetic or processed polymers that are supplied as raw materials or stock shapes. They typically consist of thermoplastic or thermosetting resins and can be made into many forms.
Rubber Adhesives and Sealants
Rubber adhesives and rubber sealants are highly flexible, natural or synthetic materials that are used to join components or fill gaps between seams or on surfaces.
Thermal Compounds and Thermal Interface Materials
Thermal compounds and thermal interface materials form a thermally conductive layer on a substrate, between components or within a finished product.
