In terms of structural features, some synthetic fibers and synthetic fabrics are chemical or fuel resistant, electrically conductive, electrically insulating, flame retardant, hydrophilic, absorbent, or suitable for sound-proofing. Other products are hydrophobic, waterproof, fireproof, or thermally insulating.
