These alloys are commonly referred to as commercially pure (C.P.) titanium with the level of impurities and mechanical properties increasing slightly from ERTi-1 to ERTi-4. C.P. Grade 2 titanium (ERTi-2) is the most widely used titanium alloy for industrial applications because of its good balance of strength, formability and weld ability. (read more)
Universal commercially pure titanium is extremely versatile for applications requiring high temperature resistance together with resistance to many chemical reagents (read more)
Commercially pure titanium, the ductile, low-alloy alpha and unaged beta titanium alloys can be cold formed within certain limits. The amount of cold forming either in bending or stretching is a function of the tensile elongation of the material. (read more)
Titanium can be economically machined on a routine production basis if shop procedures are set up to allow for the physical characteristics common to the metal. The factors which must be given consideration are not complex, but they are vital to successfully machining titanium. (read more)
Titanium is most commonly woven with commercially pure (C.P.) Grade I wire. Unalloyed titanium shows outstanding resistance to salt water, is virtually immune to atmospheric corrosion, and is highly resistant to metallic salts, chlorides, hydroxides, nitric and chromic acids, organic acids and dilute alkalies. Titanium has a very high strength to weight ratio. Titanium wire can be specified eit... (read more)
All Metals & Forge and the Aerospace Industry. The Aerospace industry is the single largest market for titanium and titanium alloys due to their high performance, corrosive resistance qualities, and superior strength to weight ratio. (read more)
