Plastics and plastic materials are organic, synthetic or processed polymers that are supplied as raw materials or stock shapes. They typically consist of thermoplastic or thermosetting resins and can be made into many forms.

Thermoplastics and thermoplastic materials soften when heated and harden when cooled. They can withstand many heating and cooling cycles and are often suitable for recycling.

Thermosets and thermoset materials are crosslinked polymeric resins that are cured or set using heat or heat and pressure. They generally have a higher resistance to heat than thermoplastics.

Elastomers and rubber materials are characterized by their high degree of flexibility and elasticity (high reversible elongation or resilience).

Industrial sealants are liquid or viscous compounds used between surfaces to contain fluids, prevent leaks, and prevent infiltration of unwanted material. They may also include compounds for filling gaps or seams.

Industrial coatings are thin films deposited upon materials to add or enhance desired properties, such as color, conductivity, corrosion resistance, etc.

Protective liners and lining systems protect an underlying surface from corrosion, wear, erosion, heat or fire. They may also provide leak protection or fluid containment.

Industrial hose covers the broad spectrum of fluid transfer lines. Hose is usually flexible, often reinforced, and available in a wide range of material compositions to cover various hydraulic and pneumatic industrial applications.

Casting resins are pourable plastic or elastomer compounds used to cast parts, make molds or form a structure in place.

Molding compounds and resins are industrial plastics and polymers that are suitable for forming. They are available as pellets, liquids, and powders and are used in processes such as injection molding, compression molding, reaction injection molding (RIM), resin transfer molding (RTM), and blow molding.

Specialty polymers and resins are proprietary polymers, resins, monomers and intermediates. This category includes plastics and elastomers that are based on proprietary curing technologies or chemistries, or that are designed for specialized applications.

Polymer and plastic composites are strengthened with fibers, fillers, particulates, powders and other matrix reinforcements to provide improved strength and/or stiffness. Examples of polymer and plastic composites include fiber reinforced plastics (FRPs), sheet molding compounds (SMCs), bulk molding compounds (BMCs), pre-preg materials, and fabricated composite parts.

Synthetic oils, greases and lubricants are based on synthetic compounds such as silicone, polyglycol, esters, digesters, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and mixtures of synthetic fluids and water. 

Synthetic fibers and synthetic fabrics consist of bulk fibers, yarns, woven cloth or other textile products manufactured from polymer-based materials such as polyamide (nylon), polyester, aramid, or other spun thermoplastics.

Plastic sheet and plastic film is formed to a precise thickness and used in many different applications.
